Both men and women alike are very well aware that there are certain things that men want in a woman. 

These requirements vary from the physical to the emotional. Just as any person, men have their idea of what makes a woman desirable on a variety of levels.

It is very important to note that men have different categories that women fall into as regards desirability. 

There are certain traits that make women attractive physically just as there are specific characteristics that make women attractive on an emotional level.

Likewise, what men want in women that they are merely dating will be very different from what they want in a woman as a potential wife. 

Thus, it is a very important to understand that what is desired in a woman by a man varies greatly and is dependent on different factors.

In knowing that there are different types of women that men are attracted to this really does help to determine which factors influence what man want from women.

If a man is looking for someone to date leisurely his standards may be a bit different from if he was looking for a woman for a long-term relationship or possibly marriage. 


Oftentimes, when men are looking for women to date they may be more interested in the looks or physical features of a woman. This is mainly because he may want to have a purely sexual relationship and so physical attraction is the first priority.

Likewise, he may also be interested in having an attractive woman on his arm if he is merely dating. This concept is a very important to understand as the type of woman who a man selects for a sexual or physical relationship can be completely different from the type of woman who is chosen for a long-term commitment.

The type of women than a man selects for a long-term relationship has a combination of characteristics that are bit more in-depth when compared to women there are selected for purely physical relationships. 

What men want in a woman for a long-term relationship is based more on common interests, goals and personal perspectives. 

Men still desire to have relationships with women that they are attracted to; however, they are more willing to focus on other aspects of the woman's person besides her looks. 


Such factors as her personality are more highly regarded when considering a woman for a long-term relationship or a marriage.

Men want to spend their time with women that they are compatible with, and this is reflected in the consideration that many men have when selecting a woman for a long-term relationship or a marriage.

Thus, it is not as difficult as it seems to understand why men want what they want in women.

Certain types of women are appealing to a man based on the interaction that he anticipates with such women. It is very clear that the type of women men like varies according to the significance of the relationship that is formed.
